Welcome to Kalyseeds – a small breeding project with a big story.
Since our reopening in 2011, we have worked with passion, perseverance and dedication to create exceptional genetics: varieties with character, strength and their own history.
Between 2011 and 2015, we were almost fully established, with many loyal customers and a steady rhythm of seed sales. But on September 22, at 9 a.m., everything changed: we were robbed, our breeding plants were destroyed, and valuable material was stolen, including a newly stabilized mutation with narrow, fern-like leaves that has been lost ever since.
Despite this setback, we kept going.
By 2019, we had managed to revitalize our lines, improve vitality, yields, aromas and active profiles, and restore the breeding quality to a solid foundation. But while the plants grew stronger, my own health deteriorated. After an accident I became disabled and have lived with chronic pain ever since. Cannabis from my own selective breeding is the only medicine that truly helps me. This personal need is the reason our varieties are now so optimized, stable and rich in beneficial compounds.
In 2019, while struggling with depression, I handed over my entire collection. There was a verbal agreement for cooperation, employment and salary. Later that same year, the project was ended without explanation. Then came a heavier blow: the loss of my five-year-old grandson.
I withdrew completely. Breeding was my refuge, my world, but I lost sight of how far the mutations had developed and barely replied to emails or inquiries. Naturally, it became impossible to maintain a regular customer base.
But in 2023, new momentum returned.
A traditional horticultural company became interested in our colorful mutations and saw a unique opportunity: ornamental cannabis for garden enthusiasts. Together, we reviewed all seeds once again, removed weak lines and kept only the best:
Optimal active compounds, full aromas, high yields and strong resistance to pests, fungi and mildew.
All under our motto: Only the toughest make it in the garden.
Today, in 2025, with more stability and a strengthened team, we are giving our best again:
- Darían, my grandson (now 18), manages shipping, packaging and social media.
- Jaime, our Spanish friend and former customer, oversees management.
- My son, as general manager, handles many essential operations.
- And I myself remain at the heart of the project: breeding, packaging and direct personal contact with every order, including individually selected bonus seeds.
