GIGA is a compact, highly resilient line with extremely large, broad leaves and thick, sturdy stems. From the seedling stage, it shows vigorous, robust growth. The variety is highly tolerant to drought, resistant to powdery mildew, and shows good tolerance to spider mites. Its dense tissue structure may also reduce susceptibility to pests like slugs. Due to its strong stem structure and overall vigor, GIGA is ideal as a rootstock for grafting, helping weaker varieties gain stability and resistance, especially against fungal stress. An independent line selected for vitality, durability, and structural strength.

GIGA es una línea compacta y extraordinariamente robusta, caracterizada por hojas extremadamente grandes y anchas, así como por tallos gruesos y macizos. Desde la fase de plántula muestra un crecimiento vigoroso y resistente. La variedad destaca por su alta tolerancia al estrés hídrico, una marcada resistencia al oídio y buena tolerancia a los ácaros (araña roja). También presenta una baja susceptibilidad a daños por herbívoros, lo que probablemente se debe a la firmeza de su estructura tisular.
Gracias a sus tallos fuertes y su crecimiento estable, GIGA es ideal como patrón para injertos. Las líneas más débiles o susceptibles pueden injertarse sobre GIGA, mejorando significativamente la resistencia general, especialmente frente al oídio.
