🌿 RUDERALIS AMUR SIMPLEX
Original Ruderalis line originating from the Amur region, characterized by a simple, serrated leaf morphology (non-palmate leaf structure).
Vegetative tissues show indications of triploid development (3n), while the flowers appear diploid (2n). The distinctive peppermint-like phenotype has been stabilized through targeted preservation breeding from 2003 to 2025.
Robust, cold-tolerant, and low in cannabinoids.

🌿 Ruderalis Amur Simplex
Origin · Discovery · Distinctive Traits
In 2003, a long-distance truck driver traveling between the Russian Far East and Central Europe brought several seeds from the Amur region to Germany. This area along the Russian–Chinese border is known for extreme winters, short growing seasons, and harsh environmental conditions. For decades, feral Ruderalis populations have persisted there, adapted to cold temperatures, strong winds, and nutrient-poor soils.
From these seeds, a line developed with an unusual morphology: a single, serrated leaf, nettle-like in appearance and lacking the typical palmate division commonly associated with cannabis.
Ruderalis is generally regarded as a hardy, small-statured form characterized by early flowering, high stress resistance, and comparatively lower cannabinoid content. This particular line expresses these traits in a notably original and unrefined form.
🧬 Chromosome Sets & Cytological Particularity
According to project-internal observations, the vegetative tissues (leaves, stem) display characteristics consistent with triploid development (3n), while the floral structures appear diploid (2n).
This differentiated pattern may help explain why:
the peppermint-like phenotype must be selectively preserved
purely diploid forms regularly appear among the offspring
open pollination tends to dilute the distinctive leaf type
Since 2003, the line has been maintained through deliberate preservation breeding. The characteristic leaf morphology remains stable only under careful and consistent selection.
